Global Learning Centre, Johannesburg

The GLC opened in 2006 as a hub for Standard Bank’s leaders from across the world to convene and receive world-class management development. The philosophy of the GLC is to build credible and respected leaders, creating a benchmark for excellence across the company.

The facility was also built with networking at its heart and even its open-plan architecture is designed to encourage the sharing of ideas. Apart from the practical benefits of such a world-class facility, however, the message is clear that Standard Bank is investing in their development of their people.

Simmonds Street, Johannesburg

The Standard Bank Centre (SBC) on Simmonds Street, in the heart of the Johannesburg CBD, has been the site of our head office since we moved in over 18 years ago.

The Simmonds Street head office houses the board and senior committees, our Governance and Group Finance functions as well as the bulk and infrastructure required to run a large financial services organisation.

The SBC comprises of several buildings which houses divisions such as our Corporate and Investment Banking and Personal and Business Banking and also includes multi-storey parkades and the Standard Bank Gallery.

The office buildings are like a small city on their own. They consume more water and power and have greater people and vehicular traffic flows than many small towns in South Africa.

Rosebank Office, Johannesburg

Our other major office complex in Johannesburg is 30 Baker Street in Rosebank, which is our front office and where the customer-facing teams work from.

Rosebank is fresh out of the box – we moved in only this year – and it was designed to reflect and encourage our collaborative working practices. This means lots of light, plenty of communal spaces and state of the art technology.

As for the surrounding area, Rosebank is a modern, cosmopolitan part of town. Lots of shops, cafes and a vibrant nightlife.

Constantia Valley (CVOP), Johannesburg

Our Constantia Valley Office Park is located in Roodepoort, in the west of Johannesburg, and is home to our insurance businesses, many of our call centres and other back-office functions.

It has grown steadily since its establishment in mid-2006 when it accommodated around 570 people to more than 3 500 people currently.

It includes amenities such as meeting and training centres, a spacious auditorium as well as dining facilities.
