Mr Kola Lawal joined the Bank in November 2008 as Credit Origination Manager, Specialised and Structured Credit – Corporate and Investment Banking (‘CIB’) Credit, a position he held until January 2012 when he was seconded to Standard Bank South Africa as Regional Credit Evaluation Manager (Southern Africa Region). He then moved on to Head, CIB Power and Infrastructure Credit, and South Africa Public Sector Unit. He returned to Stanbic IBTC Bank Nigeria in January 2015 as Head, CIB Credit and was appointed as Head Credit, Nigeria in February 2019.

Mr Lawal has over 20 years post qualification experience, 15 of which has been in risk management (14 years in credit risk). Prior to joining Stanbic IBTC, He worked at different times with Agusto and Co as a Ratings Analyst and Financial Advisory consultant and, at Standard Chartered Bank as a Corporate Credit Analyst. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in Building from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He also holds an M.Sc. in Construction Economics and Management from University College London, United Kingdom.
