Mrs Olufunke Amobi

Mrs. Olufunke Amobi, the Executive Director of Operations at Stanbic IBTC Bank Limited holds a wealth of experience spanning over 30 years in various sectors including Oil & Gas, Banking and Financial Services, and Telecommunications.

In her previous role, she served as Deputy Head, Operations for Stanbic IBTC Bank Limited, where she provided oversight for core banking operations, operations shared service delivery, enterprise data office, strategic customer experience management, business transformation, data and analytics, real estate services and procurement.

She also previously served as Regional Head, People & Culture, Nigeria & West Africa, and Head, People and Culture, Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC where she was responsible for leading and managing high-level engagement across the Group while shaping the people and culture strategy across six countries. She also provided strategic direction for the operational performance of the country's Human Capital function across Stanbic IBTC subsidiaries.

Prior to her designation as the Head of Human Capital at Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC in December 2013, she held various key positions in reputable organizations such as General Manager Organisational & Talent Development at MTN Nigeria Communications PLC, Group Head of Human Capital Management at NNB International Bank (Now Unity Bank PLC) and  Head Administration & Human Resources at ARCO Petrochemical Engineering Company Limited (Now ARCO Group).

Mrs. Amobi holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Lagos Nigeria, and an MBA from Lancaster University, UK where she graduated with distinction and was awarded the Dean's Prize. Additionally, she obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology of Organisational Development and Change from the University of Bedfordshire, UK, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Talent & Career Management from the University of Surrey, UK. She was also recently appointed as an Honorary Professor in the Work, Organisation & Technology discipline at the Lancaster University Management School UK.

An honorary senior member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Mrs. Amobi is also a member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria. She is also affiliated with esteemed professional bodies, including being a Chartered Companion of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development UK, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development UK, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Nigeria. Her dedication to continuous professional development is evident through her participation in various national and international executive programs, resulting in multiple accolades and awards.

She sits on the Advisory Boards of Lancaster University Management School UK (LUMS) and Pan Atlantic University (LBS) Nigeria. She also serves on the Boards of several not-for-profit organizations including WISCAR (Women in Successful Careers).
